Open enrollment this year will be from Monday October 23 to Monday November 6.  Open enrollment materials were mailed to retirees on Friday October 13. No need to do anything if making no changes. However the Lab Legal Plan is going to a MetLife Legal plan and you would need to enroll in that during open enrollment on the website or you can call Empyrean. They are also offering Norton Lifelock for identity theft protection for $15/month fee.

Effective January 1, 2023, Smiths pharmacies will no longer be a part of the Express Scripts network.  Express Scripts is the manager for the Laboratory’s retiree pharmacy benefits.  If you have been using Lab benefits at Smith’s pharmacies, you should have received letters from both Express Scripts and Kroger informing you of this change. This change affects all Kroger pharmacies nationwide.  (Kroger is the parent company of Smiths.)  For more information see the December 13th Los Alamos Reporter article.

LANL 2023 Open Enrollment for retirees will take place October 24 through November 7,  2022.  All retirees should receive an open enrollment notice in the mail from Empyrean Customer Care Center for LANL.

For Medicare Eligible Retirees there will be an 11% average increase on medical insurance and a 5% increase on vision insurance.  There will be no changes to the  dental and legal plans. If you do not wish to make any changes, your current coverage will continue for 2023 but reflect 2023 pricing.

Log on to www.lanlbenefits.com to review benefits and/or make changes.  Elections must be submitted by 11 pm MT on Nov 7, 2022.
